Bone Marrow and Organ Donation Leave

果冻传媒直播 provides eligible employees with a number of business days of unpaid leave (or accrued paid leave if available to the employee) in a certain period for donation of bone marrow and/or organs. The donation must be medically necessary for the recipient.

This policy requires an eligible employee to provide written physician verification to receive this leave. It prohibits this leave from being taken concurrently with any leave taken under the federal Family and Medical Leave Act. The University may not consider any period of time during which an eligible employee takes bone marrow/organ donation leave to be a break in their continuous service for the purpose of the eligible employee鈥檚 right to salary adjustments, sick leave, vacation, paid time off, annual leave, or seniority. The employee who returns to work after taking bone marrow/organ donation leave is entitled to be restored to the position of employment held by the employee when the leave began, or to an equivalent position with equivalent employment benefits, pay, and other terms and conditions. It further requires the University to maintain the employee鈥檚 health coverage for the duration of the leave.

An eligible employee is an individual who has been employed for at least a 12鈥搈onth period and worked at least 1,250 hours during the previous 12 months. An eligible employee is entitled to the following organ donation leave:

  • up to 60 business days in any 12鈥搈onth period to serve as an organ donor; and
  • up to 30 business days in any 12鈥搈onth period to serve as a bone marrow donor.
